EraseNoise is a background noise remover that lowers copier and printer noise behind the voice in a meeting, an interview, or an office video. In our real sample, the background score went from 2.81 to 4.10 out of 5, but the voice ended near 3 for naturalness. Listen to that trade-off below, then test 30 seconds of your own office recording free.

Play the copier recording and pay attention to the voice as well as the machine, then compare it with the steadier dishwasher. After that, run 30 seconds of your own office recording free.
The copier is a mixed case. The machine dropped (background 2.81 to 4.10, overall 2.50 to 3.07), but naturalness ended at 3.03, so listen for a thin voice. A dishwasher, a steadier machine, did better. Scores are DNSMOS and NISQA predictions on a 1–5 scale for real copier and related machine recordings from the Microsoft DNS Challenge test set, processed with no hand edits.
A copier mixes a motor, rollers, and clunks. The steady part drops best; the clunks and paper feed are harder.
An office interview or a call next to the copy room. The machine drops, and the voice can sound a little thin.
Hear the recordingNot tested separately. Printing comes in short bursts like the copier, so expect a similar result and check the preview.
Not tested. Loud machines close to the mic are the hardest case in general; move away from them for the next take if you can.
A steady whir is like the fans we tested, which cleaned better than the copier.
Remove fan noiseA copier changes sound with every page, so a single noise profile does not fit it.
Upload the file as it is. You do not need a stretch of only copier noise.
Turn the Noise reduction control down to keep more of the voice when a loud machine thins it.
The copier is a mixed case in our tests. You can hear the trade-off before you upload.
With loud machines, judge the voice.
If the voice sounds processed, turn the Noise reduction control down and compare again.
A paper tray clunk that lands on a word can leave a trace.
A copier is loud and uneven, so every option has a cost.
| Option | Works best when | Falls short when |
|---|---|---|
| EraseNoise | The words must be clear and a slightly thinner voice is fine | The voice must sound fully natural |
| Audacity Noise Reduction | The copier hums steadily and there is a gap with only the machine | Pages feed and clunk at random |
| Cutting in an editor | The copier runs only between answers | It runs under the words |
| Moving the recording | You can book a room away from the copy room | The interview is already recorded |
Upload the meeting, interview, or lesson recording as it is, up to 2 GB.
A recorded meeting next to the copy room downloads as WAV.
An office video downloads as MP4 with the same picture.
Choose the audio or video file where a copier or a printer runs behind the voice.
Play a sentence spoken while the copier ran, original and cleaned, signed out if you like.
Clean the whole recording only if the machine is lower and the voice does not sound hollow.
The copy room was busy during the take. Clean the clip and keep the shot.
A printer ran through the call. Clean the saved recording before you share it.
A printer or a copier in the background of a lesson. Lower it under the teacher.
Use this page for copiers and printers. Steadier machines clean better on their own pages.
| Job | Use |
|---|---|
| A copier or a printer | Use this copier page |
| A computer fan or an air conditioner | Remove fan noise from audio |
| A dishwasher or a washing machine | Remove dishwasher noise from audio |
| Keyboard typing in an open office | Read the keyboard noise guide |
| Coworkers talking nearby | A weak case: their voices are speech too |
| Steadier machines that cleaned better, with real audio | Open the examples page |
Office recordings uploaded here are removed, along with the cleaned copy, 24 hours after upload, and are never shared as samples. Download your file before then.
Upload the office recording at the top of the page and compare the free 30-second preview with what you recorded. Download the full file only if the machine is lower and the voice still sounds natural.
On a real copier recording from the Microsoft DNS Challenge test set, EraseNoise raised the DNSMOS background score from 2.81 to 4.10 out of 5 and overall quality from 2.50 to 3.07. NISQA naturalness ended at 3.03, which puts it in the mixed group of our 24 recordings: the machine drops, but the voice can sound thinner.
We tested a copier, not a printer. A printer makes the same kind of feed-and-print noise, so it likely gives a similar mixed result; check the free preview.
No. It only works on a saved recording. During the meeting, use the noise suppression in Zoom, Teams, or Discord, or Krisp.
Processing time depends on how long the office recording is: as a guide, a 5-minute video takes 10 to 60 seconds. The free 30-second preview of the office recording uses no paid minutes, so you can judge it first.
Up to 2 GB per file. You can play the 30-second preview free 3 times in 24 hours without an account, or 20 times with one. The full recording is billed per minute, rounded up, minimum 1 minute.
Upload one file. Keep the result only if the machine is lower and the voice still sounds natural.
