EraseNoise is a background noise remover that lowers kitchen noise, such as pans, a hood fan, and clinking dishes, behind the voice in an audio or video file. In our real kitchen sample, naturalness went from 2.76 to 4.66 out of 5. Play it below, then try a free 30-second preview of your own cooking clip.

Switch each kitchen recording between as-recorded and cleaned while it plays. Then upload your own take and pick a sentence where a pan or a plate hit.
The kitchen recording started fairly clean, so overall quality moved less (2.90 to 3.30), but the background score rose from 3.59 to 4.16 and naturalness from 2.76 to 4.66. Utensils and running water from the same room are below it. Scores are DNSMOS and NISQA predictions on a 1–5 scale for real kitchen and related home recordings from the Microsoft DNS Challenge test set, processed with no hand edits.
A kitchen mixes a steady hum with short knocks. Both drop when the voice is closer to the mic than the stove.
A cooking video or a call taken while dinner cooks. The hood fan is a steady whir like the fans we tested, and the pan knocks between words dropped in our kitchen sample.
Hear the recordingShort clinks under a voice. In our utensils sample, overall quality went from 2.01 to 3.28.
Remove utensil noiseRunning water is the hardest kitchen sound here: the noise drops, but the voice can sound processed.
Remove water noiseA steady machine hum. Our dishwasher recording went from 1.94 to 4.18 for naturalness.
Remove dishwasher noiseA noise gate cuts the pauses but leaves the clatter under each word. EraseNoise keeps the voice and lowers the rest.
The hood fan and the pan knocks are handled together. You do not need one filter for hum and another for clicks.
Kitchens are never quiet, so there is often no clean second to build a noise profile from. This tool needs only the file.
A cooking video comes back as MP4 with the same frames, so you do not export the edit again.
Judge the words that a knock or a sizzle landed on.
A pan dropped on a word can leave that word rough. Check it in the preview.
Frying is a bright hiss close to the voice range. If the voice sounds dull, turn the Noise reduction control down.
Each option fits a different kitchen recording. Pick the one that matches where the noise sits.
| Option | Works best when | Falls short when |
|---|---|---|
| EraseNoise | Clatter and the hood fan sit under the words, with no quiet gap | A pan clangs right on a word, or the tap runs next to the mic |
| Audacity Noise Reduction | The hood fan is steady and you can select a second of it alone | Knocks and clinks change every second |
| Cutting in an editor | A dropped lid lands between two sentences | The knock covers a word you need |
| Re-recording the line | One step of the recipe is ruined | The dish is already cooked and cannot be shot again |
Send the take straight from the phone or camera that sat on the counter, up to 2 GB.
Voice memos and podcast tracks recorded by the stove come back as WAV.
A cooking video downloads as MP4 with the same picture and a cleaned soundtrack.
Choose the audio or video file recorded in the kitchen.
Play a stretch where the hood fan and a pan knock overlap, first as recorded and then cleaned. No account needed.
Process the whole take only if the clatter has dropped and your voice still sounds like you at the stove.
The talk-through is recorded over the stove. Clean the soundtrack and keep the shot.
Someone was cooking in the next room during a recorded call. Clean the saved file afterwards.
The kitchen and the desk share a room. Lower the dishes and the fridge under the episode.

On a real kitchen recording from the Microsoft DNS Challenge test set, EraseNoise raised the DNSMOS background score from 3.59 to 4.16 out of 5 and NISQA naturalness from 2.76 to 4.66. A recording of utensils went from 2.01 to 3.28 for overall quality. Running water was the weakest kitchen sound we tested.
The noise drops a lot, but water is the weakest kitchen case: in our sample, naturalness ended at 2.51. Turn the tap off for the lines that matter if you can.
Yes. Recipe clips in MP4, MOV, M4V, or WebM are accepted, and the cleaned cooking video comes back as an MP4 with the frames untouched.
No. The model keeps speech and lowers everything else, sizzling included. Turn the Noise reduction control down to keep some of it.
Processing time depends on how long the cooking video is: as a guide, a 5-minute video takes 10 to 60 seconds. The free 30-second preview of the cooking video uses no paid minutes, so you can judge it first.
Files up to 2 GB are accepted. Without an account you get 3 free 30-second previews per 24 hours, and 20 once you sign in. Cleaning the full video is billed per started minute, at least 1 minute.
